MM2 KIDS How to Win as Sheriff
Patience and proof — a Sheriff guide that cuts panic shoots and clutch losses.
The Sheriff carries the lobby’s best answer to a Murderer knife — and the lobby’s fastest way to throw. One wrong shoot can delete an Innocent and swing the round. This MM2 KIDS guide teaches confirmation, angle holding, and recovery so kids win more Sheriff rounds without raging. Read How to Play first, then compare threats in How to Win as Murderer and help patterns in Innocent Survival.
Sheriff win condition
Eliminate the Murderer without handing them free chaos. That includes:
- Confirming targets before firing
- Staying alive long enough to matter
- Dropping the gun in a recoverable spot if you die
- Communicating simply when helpful (“I saw knife near stairs”) without fake claims
Your gun is powerful. Your discipline is the real weapon.
Confirmation checklist (use it)
Before you shoot, ask:
- Did I see a knife swing or a clear kill animation?
- Is this player chasing someone who is clearly fleeing a stab?
- Did multiple players die near this person with no other suspects?
- Am I about to shoot someone who just picked up coins in the open like a normal Innocent?
If you only have “they looked at me weird,” do not shoot yet. Track them. Force them to make a mistake.
Angle play for kids
Hold doorways and corners where Murderers must expose themselves. Avoid standing in the exact center of huge rooms. On maps like Pier during Summer Event, use pier structures for partial cover and listen for footsteps on wood planks.
Peek briefly, reset behind cover, peek again. Hard-scoping one hallway forever lets the Murderer path behind you.
When to push vs when to hold
Push when you hear a fresh kill nearby and can arrive before the Murderer resets.
Hold when the lobby is quiet and Innocents are spread out — let the Murderer come into your crosshair.
Rotate when your angle is burned (everyone knows you camp that door) or when bodies pile on the opposite side of the map.
Wrong-shoot recovery
It happens. Even careful Sheriffs misread. After a wrong shoot:
- Own it calmly — no insult storms.
- Stay alive; the Murderer will hunt the chaos.
- Play even tighter confirmation.
- Protect remaining Innocents instead of ego-dueling.
If you die after a wrong shoot, the gun drop becomes the lobby’s last hope. Try not to die in a corner Innocents cannot reach — see Innocent Survival for pickup habits.
Fighting the knife up close
Close range favors the Murderer. Create space:
- Backpedal while keeping camera on the threat
- Use props to break sprint lines
- Do not reload-mental-check mid-panic if your flow does not need it — focus on the shot you have
- If you whiff, reposition immediately; standing still is a gift
Mid-range with clear vision is your dream. Knife range is theirs.
Helping Innocents without soft-throwing
You can escort nervous players, but do not glue yourself to one friend so hard that the Murderer farms everyone else. Sweep coin-heavy areas occasionally — Murderers farm loners there — then return to information-rich junctions.
Teach friends not to scream “SHOT” with zero proof. Bad callouts create wrong shoots.
Sheriff and collecting mindset
A Chroma gun looks amazing and still misses if you panic. Read Chroma Guide for collecting pride, not aimbots. For inventory goals, use How to Get Weapons. For trades after a flex session, Trading Safely first.
Practice plan
- Play three Sheriff rounds where your only goal is zero wrong shoots (winning is bonus).
- Play two rounds focused on arriving to gunfights with cover.
- Review Tips and Tricks for cross-role habits like sound cues and coin path awareness.
- Watch how Murderers bait shots in How to Win as Murderer, then refuse those baits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When should a Sheriff shoot?
When you have proof: knife swings, chase kills, or strong multi-death patterns. Do not shoot on vibes alone.
What if I wrong-shoot an Innocent?
Stay calm, play safer, and protect the remaining lobby. Tilting into more bad shots makes it worse.
Should Sheriffs collect coins?
Yes when safe. Coins help progression and events, but never ignore a gunfight for a coin pile.
Does a rarer gun improve accuracy?
No. Godly and Chroma guns are cosmetic. Aim and confirmation decide the duel.
How do I practice Sheriff skills?
Set goals like zero wrong shoots per round, then study Murderer bait patterns and Tips and Tricks.
